What Is My Coin Collection Worth?

The honest answer: a coin is worth what a serious buyer will pay for it today. Price guides and websites give ranges, and those ranges are often wide and out of date. The fastest way to know what you have is to get a real offer.

Ours is free and there's no obligation. Send photos, bring the coins in (by appointment), or have us come to you, and we'll tell you what we'd pay, and why.

What decides the value

  • Metal. Most U.S. dimes, quarters and halves from 1964 and earlier are 90% silver. Gold coins carry their gold value at minimum. That sets a floor.
  • Date and mint mark. A small letter on the coin (D, S, O, CC) can change a coin's value many times over. Some dates were made in tiny numbers.
  • Condition. Wear, scratches and especially cleaning change value a lot. Please don't clean anything before we see it.
  • Certification. Coins graded and sealed by PCGS or NGC are easier to value and often worth more. We're an Authorized Dealer for both.

Getting your number

  1. Photos: clear front and back pictures of a few pieces, through the form on our Sell To Us page. We'll tell you whether it's worth bringing in.
  2. In person: call 215-576-7272 to set a time at our Jenkintown office.
  3. At your home: for larger collections we come to you, free, up to about 90 minutes from Jenkintown. We'll give you a rough estimate at the visit, and an exact offer on the spot if you'd like to sell that day.

We'll give you a straight number and walk you through how we reached it. If something isn't worth much, we'll say so. That saves you a trip.
